Questions you MUST ask any carpet cleaner!

Posted on September 7, 2010. Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , |

Here are 3 questions that should be asked of any prospective carpet cleaner before they enter your home:

(1)  Are you IICRC certified?  This is important for many reasons.  Here are two:  First, the carpet mills now require that you have your carpet cleaned at least every 12-24 months, and that it is cleaned by an Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration certified technician!  Second, a certified carpet cleaner means that really knows what he is doing.  He has been educated and tested and is knowledgeable about dyes, fabrics, chemicals, etc.  You will get professionally cleaned carpet and upholstery.

(2)  Do you guarantee your work?  If he cannot offer a 100%  No-Risk guarantee, then he has nothing to lose by taking on your job, but you could be left with a big mess on your hands.

(3)  Will you inspect my carpet and give me a  firm price BEFORE you clean?  Most do not want to bother with doing a pre-inspection.  Since they don’t guarantee their work, inspecting what will be cleaned ahead of time isn’t an issue for them.
