Use Your Microwave Safely

Posted on January 10, 2010. Filed under: Uncategorized |

Here us a very easy change that you can make that will make a big difference for your familly’s health.

When you are using your microwave, it is safer to use heat resistant glass or ceramic containers instead of plastic. Some plasticizers can cause cancer and reproductive harm and heating plastic elevates these risks.

Using nonplastic containers also reduces our reliance on plastics. The less we rely on plastics the better – they create CO2 in their production and some types of plastic fill up our landfills because they never really break down.

It is also a good reason to buy water in glass bottles if possible. Some plastic leaches harmful chemicals into the water.

Personally I dont even own a microwave, but if I did I would most definitely do this!
